Optional add-ins: green onions, caramelized onions, or chopped spinach.
3. Prepping the Bacon: Crispy Foundations
Cook the bacon until it’s just crispy—golden but not too brittle. Once done, place it on a paper towel to drain excess grease. Then chop it into bite-sized pieces. This step adds a rich, smoky base to your quiche and guarantees that every slice carries a hit of bacon-y goodness.

4. The Perfect Crust: Blind-Baking Is Key
Whether you use a homemade or ready-made crust, blind-baking ensures it doesn’t go soggy. Press the crust into a pie dish, prick it with a fork, line it with parchment paper, and fill it with pie weights or dry beans. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Let it cool slightly before adding your filling.
5. The Filling: Where Creaminess Meets Crunch
Whisk together the eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Scatter the chopped bacon and cheese evenly over the crust. Pour the egg mixture on top, letting it settle naturally into all the corners. If you’re using extra veggies or herbs, now’s the time to sprinkle them in.

6. Bake It to Perfection
Slide your quiche into a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C). Bake for 40 – 45 minutes, or until the center is just set and the top is puffed and golden. A slight wobble in the middle is fine—it will firm up as it cools.
Let it rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing. This not only keeps the texture creamy but also makes the slices cleaner and easier to serve.
7. Serving Suggestions: Simple and Satisfying
Serve warm or at room temperature. Pair it with a crisp green salad, roasted cherry tomatoes, or even a chilled glass of white wine. It’s as welcome on a brunch table as it is on a weekday dinner plate.

8. Leftovers That Don’t Feel Like Leftovers
Refrigerate any leftovers and gently reheat them in the oven or a skillet. It keeps its flavor and texture surprisingly well. You can even freeze slices individually—perfect for a quick grab-and-go meal that still feels homemade.
